Milky Way You Will Hear Me Call
Emma Bolland, Judit Bodor, Tom Rodgers
4-26 October 2012
In 2011 artist Emma Bolland and crime novelist David Peace were brought together by curator Judit Bodor to discuss the narratives of grief and violence that are explored in both their work. Bolland and Bodor, joined by artist Tom Rodgers, have now started a performative and collaborative research process investigating the relationship between personal memory and a mythologized recent history, through collective readings and visits to key sites identified in Peace's ‘1980’, a re-imagination of the hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper. The first outcomes of this collaboration, images, texts, collected objects and recordings, will be exhibited in the gallery as a poetic installation that focuses on memory, place and mourning.
